    A WEEK IN THE MOUNTAINS

Last week we headed on our annual retreat to the mountains, which I look forward to every year. The weather was amazing and that was just a cherry on top! Basically all we did was hike for hours and then eat haha, but it felt so good to let go of everything  and enjoy the nature, mountains, fresh air and each other’s company. Despite the fact we have been together for a long time, every single experience brings you even closer. Same goes to last week in the mountains. You always find yourself in situations you’ve never been before, and how you work together as a team, bonds you tighter.…

    HIKING IN VAL ROSANDRA

Recently my mom celebrated her birthday and this year I wanted to surprise her with something special, something she would always remember. She wanted to go hiking to Val Rosandra for a few years now, but never managed to realise those plans. So I came up with the idea of surprising her and take her hiking. Val Rosandra is a valley, or rather gorge, just a few kilometres from Trieste. It is located near the border between Slovenia and Italy, but it’s still on Italian side. You can find various hiking trails and basically choose the length and difficulty of the trail. There are  also a lot of options to…

EASTER TRIP TO SAVICA WATERFALL AND LAKE BOHINJ

Every Slovene has probably visited Bohinj at least once in their lifetime, if not many times. Since not all my readers are Slovene, I have decided to share some photos from our recent trip to Bohinj with you anyway. I guess this post will be far more interesting for my foreign audience. Anyways, if you had visited Bohinj many times and still enjoy to see some well-known places from a different perspective – hop in, and enjoy the ride. Last week was Easter holiday and for the majority of time the weather was pretty miserable. On the last day everything had changed and all of a sudden it was sunny…

USA DIARIES: EVENING HIKE ON A STONE MOUNTAIN

I can’t believe it’s been almost half a year since my last trip to USA. This trip has been one of the most “last-minute” and “you only live once” decisions I’ve ever made. I travelled with my dad, but did some travelling alone as well, which made much bigger impact on my current perception of basically everything. It was scary and absolutely out of my comfort zone, but so rewarding at the same time. This particular evening when we hiked to a Stone Mountain, was by far one of the best moments on this trip. Stone mountain is a pretty high mountain in the vicinity of Atlanta (Georgia). When we were…

    HIKING IN VELIKA PLANINA

Well it’s the middle of March and this winter just doesn’t want to be over. As much as I enjoy the arrival of spring, I can’t say I didn’t like this year’s a bit longer winter. In the given circumstances, we decided to exploit the snow to the fullest and headed hiking to Velika planina.  I can openly say this was one of this winter’s top hikes. The weather was very changeable throughout the day, which was a plus, therefore we were almost alone up there. One second it was warm and sunny and a few minutes later it was foggy, windy and freezing cold. Every time we would stop…
