DOLOMITES: HIKING AROUND TRE CIME DI LAVAREDO

One of the main activities you’d want to do when visiting Dolomites , is definitely a walk around Tre Cime di Lavaredo. Tre Cime are three peaks and they are probably one of the most known and iconic peaks in Dolomites. You can recognize them by the distinctive shape. There is a fee you need to pay entering the Tre Cime National Park. You pay a car rate which is quite expensive (around 30€), but well worth it at the end. You park your car on the huge parking lot at the foot of the Tre Cime, on the elevation of 2333 metres. From the parking there are numerous hiking…

    DOLOMITES: LAGO DI BRAIES

Last week we made a road trip through Italian Dolomites, Lake Como, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and through Austria returned back to Slovenia. And how we got the idea to make road trip through those places? Well, we both wanted to visit Dolomites, I wanted to go to Lake Como for a few years now and he’s already been to Switzerland but wanted to take me there as well. BOAT RIDE TO CAPRI ISLAND

In order to continue my “Amalfi series”, one day we took a boat to Capri and spent the whole day exploring the island. Capri is a small island close to Naples and Amalfi coast and if you ever visit those places – Capri is a MUST! The easiest and the only (therefore not so cheap) way to get there is by boat. No matter where you are staying (Naples, Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi)  there are boats departing from every town, their schedule is quite frequent too, so you should not worry about that. The boat ride took us around half an hour. Let me just say one thing about this island: It…

    SORRENTO: “DO AS ITALIANS DO”

It took half a day for us to  pass over to a completely different state of mind – “Italian state of mind”. You can imagine this was not a hard thing to do when being surrounded by beautiful landscape, amazing food, tasty wine and italian language. We enjoyed every bite of this “italian paradise” and took it slowly. Looking back I am really glad we took enough time for everything we did, there was no rush and no “I want to see too much in one day” attitude. We took our time to eat, to actually enjoy the food, took time to explore the coast and most importantly – took time…

    WELCOME TO AMALFI COAST

After a long drive we passed by the capital of Italy – Rome and an hour later we finally glanced a huge mountain rising in the distance. We immediately knew it was mount Vesuvius, which is actually a volcano. It felt just as the mountain was welcoming us and telling us that our final destination – Amalfi coast in near. Vesuvius is really majestic and sublime. It is standing proudly, watching over the city of Naples and Amalfi coast. As soon as we left Naples behind and entered the Amalfi peninsula,we actually entered a completely different world. The atmosphere changed from empty endless motorways through hot and barren Italian landscape…
