HIKE TO NANOS HILL (AND PREPARING FOR A TRIP)

This hike was another very spontaneous decision. After a busy week we were lying in our bed on Friday night, just before falling asleep, when it occured to us – if we sleep in tomorrow, there won’t be much from that day. “Do you want to go somewhere tomorrow?” “You mean, on a trip?” “Sure.” “Well, I am kind of running out of the ideas. I don’t want to go the seaside again, because it gets too crowded on weekends” “Actually, I had something different in mind. Maybe something more active. Want to go for a hike, I was thinking about Nanos?” “Great, Nanos it is!” That’s exactly how we…

WHAT TRAVEL HAS TAUGHT ME SO FAR? (PART 1)

Recently I’ve asked my readers to tell me what kind of posts would they like to read and one of the most requested ones was to write a post on The things I’ve learned from travel. I have to say I liked the idea, but it took me a while to think of everything I want to include in this post. Eventually my list is much longer than I thought it would be, so I am dividing it into two posts – part 1 and 2 (part 2 coming soon). I am also including random photos from my travels, which you will probably recognize. I hope you find this kind…

HEALTHY MIXED GRAIN LUNCH BOWL WITH SPROUTS

Here I am sharing another very easy healthy lunch recipe. My goal is to share some lunch ideas I usually make for myself, when I don’t have much time and still want to eat healthy and nutritious food. Recently I’ve started to experiment a bit and came upon the idea, why not make a dish were I mix a few grains I like and see if it works. I decided to mix rice, buckwheat and millet because, to be honest, I always have them in my storage. When you try this for yourself, the one thing you should consider is the cooking time of grains. Those three grains I’ve used…

    FLORIDA: EVERGLADES WILDLIFE

This was my second time visiting the majestic Everglades National Park. When visiting for the first time with my boyfriend, we took an air boat ride through the swamp. It was one of those small private boats for max 7 people and we had a really great private tour, which turned out to be a much more authentic experience than booking a tour on one of those huge “mass tourism” air boats. We saw quite a few alligators during our ride. It is scary to think that just a few metres away there are deadly alligators, who would tear apart anything that is potential food in just a few seconds.…

    SNOW DAYS IN SLOVENIA

Hoping it’s not the end of the winter and praying for some more snow in the near future, I decided to share some photos of days spent in the snow. Sadly there weren’t many this year (yet), but those few were great! We ended up taking quite a few photos, enough for entire blog post, so here I am sharing them with you. Photos were taken in the begining of January, when woods were full of fresh snow and everything was so beautiful. In my opinion winter is second most beautiful season (if there is snow!), right after autumn of course! What do you think about it? I will let…
