Our next destination on this road trip through Alps was Switzerland. Can you believe I have never been to Switzerland before? I didn’t have a strong desire to go, until my boyfriend suggested we extend our road trip and visit Luzern, a city in Switzerland he had visited before and wanted to take me there ever since.
I was in, as you can imagine. Later I have found out he had some additional secret intentions he left out in the beginning. That secret intention was to visit Stans – Pilatus aircraft factory and airport on our way to Luzern. I am sure all plane lovers and pilots will immediately know what I am talking about, am I right?
We were lucky enough, to see few aircrafts taking off and landing, so he was very pleased with the visit. To be honest I didn’t even bring my camera with me, just filmed a few clips. Half an hour later we found ourselves in Luzern.
Luzern was a love at first sight. The minute I saw the centre, the buildings, I knew I am going to love it, and I did. We decided to treat ourselves and went to a famous brunch place in Luzern and ate one of the best salads. To remind you this is Switzerland, you can imagine that prices were quite steep, but we decided to splurge a bit on this one meal.
The weather was perfect, you could tell it is fall already, but it was still warm enough to wear only T-shirt. Just the way I like it. We had a whole day, to explore the city, walk the streets, enjoy the weather and look for a nice viewing points. Since he was the only one from the two of us visiting Luzern before, I got a little private tour around the city haha.
The next morning was one of my favourite moments of this trip. We slept in suburbs of Luzern, there was the most beautiful sunlight as we woke up, so we spontaneously decided to take a walk. We had no idea where to go, but stumbled upon beautiful walking path through fields. I will never forget this walk, it was so random if you think it that way: we had no idea what day it was whatsoever and we were taking a walk through unknown fields in the middle if Switzerland, early in the morning. We heard cow bells in the distance and the whole atmosphere was so peaceful, so relaxing.
So without big expectations, Switzerland (at least the part we have seen) made me want to explore this country again, so we will definitely be back someday. But before that, another adventure awaits tomorrow AND I AM SO HYPED! I don’t want to say yet where we are going and want to keep you curious untill tomorrow. I can give you one hint: I am trading this rainy autumn weather for summer. Any guesses?
