A DAY IN OPATIJA

It’s been a minute since my last post, but since it is summer and many of you are on vacation, I figured why not have a mini break from the blog myself? And that’s exactly what I did, plus we went on a camping trip to Croatia – but more about that in one of my following posts, I promise! From now on my posts will be more regular again, new post every week (or at least I will try to keep up with that schedule).

So you wanna know how my summer’s going? It’s going really well actually, flying by so fast as per usual. On free-working days we find some time to enjoy the summer, go hiking or swimming. As soon as it looks like we can both afford to take a few days off – we are on our way to the seaside. We also started to brainstorm some ideas for the next travel destination. So that basically sums up my summer so far, haha.

Okay now I should really get to the point. During our return from a week in Lošinj (read about it here: CROATIA: LOŠINJ ) we spent a day in a beautiful town in Istria called Opatija. We took a walk by the coast, took a dip in the sea and then had a nice lunch. The place is – or at least gives the feeling of a mondain destination. You can find few really prestigious hotels, bars, bar beaches and beautiful parks.

If you ever have a whole day to yourself and you crave a short seaside getaway, there you go. Opatija is near the border between Slovenia and Croatia, so the drive is relatively short. And if you leave early in the morning you can basically have a whole day of swimming, sunbathing and  having a delicious  lunch and drinks in one of the great bars/restaurants.

I still need to catch up on a few posts from Tenerife, plus there will be one or two post from our recent camping trip to Croatia. I guess I have some work to do, thank god my boyfriend will be in The States for two weeks, so I will surely have a bit more time than usual. Next post will be up very soon – stay tuned!
