It took half a day for us to pass over to a completely different state of mind – “Italian state of mind”. You can imagine this was not a hard thing to do when being surrounded by beautiful landscape, amazing food, tasty wine and italian language. We enjoyed every bite of this “italian paradise” and took it slowly.
Looking back I am really glad we took enough time for everything we did, there was no rush and no “I want to see too much in one day” attitude. We took our time to eat, to actually enjoy the food, took time to explore the coast and most importantly – took time to relax.
Staying in Sorrento gave us a great starting point for basically everything. Moreover Sorrento is such a beautiful town, with numerous beautiful spots and some nice beaches. As I have said many times before (and will probably say it a lot more, so I apologize in advance) – my absolute favourite thing about Sorrento were the views. Every hotel, every restaurant, every terrace offered a view you could only dream of.
There are so many great restaurants in Sorrento, with food to die for. We found our favourite restaurant pretty soon and returned to eat there a few times after. But the thing is – you can’t really mess up your restaurant choice, because no matter which restaurant you dine in, the food and the wine are amazing.
We didn’t limit ourselves to eat only pizza and pasta, but have tried a few of restaurant’s specialities as well. My absolute favourite dish were some kind of gratinated aubergines with mozzarela and pomodoro.
If I just think about it…, ah I would kill for it right now!
Maybe I will try to make my own version of it and if I actually manage to perfect the recipe, I will make a post and share this divine dish with you! What do you think about it? Let me know in the comments down bellow!
