Netherlands Countryside Bound

So here we are continuing our “Netherlands series”. The original plan was to visit exclusively Amsterdam, but as soon as we started to plan things out, everything has changed. Amsterdam has been on our bucket list for quite some time and so was the Netherlands countryside, so we thought “why not combine these two in one trip?”.  Luckily we do agree on most things and we agreed on this one as well. So there it was – another spontaneous decision which turned out to be great!

We took a train so we could see as much of a countryside as possible. The train was fast, modern, quiet and well …. very “ahead of time” in comparison to Slovenian trains haha. We stopped in a small village, which is known by it’s numerous windmills. I fell in love with the countryside, and we were lucky enough that weather was on our side. We rented bikes so everything was more accessible.

We spent our day cycling around the countryside, among the windmills. The only thing that bothered us was a load of turists. Other than that, we really enjoyed ourselves and we were glad we decided to visit the countryside. In reference to our very long bucket list of places we want to visit in next years, I am not sure when the “Netherlands countryside paragraph” would be checked off.

For the last few weeks we’ve been already planning out our summer trip, any guesses where? Hint: Somewhere we’ve never been before. I’ll let you think for a little bit before revealing it to you! Maybe in the next post, so stay tuned.
