Copenhagen part 2
Have you ever experienced a situation where you travel somewhere with certain expectations, and when you arrive to your destination everything is even hundred times better than you expected? That’s how it was with our trip to Copenhagen.
After the surprise with our airbnb, which turned out to be super awesome, there was another pleasant surprise waiting for us – the weather. What are the odds of having warm sunny days in Copenhagen in September? And if so, there might be a sunny day or two, but not the whole week. The weather was unbelievable, sunny and warm all week long. It was like winning the lottery haha!
Our apartment was located within a walking distance from the city centre. On the first day when we got there, we decided to do some exploring. We walked to the famous Statue of the Little Mermaid, which was not far away from our apartment. There was a nice walking area along the coast that lead us right to the centre.
After a half an hour walk we found ourselves in the most picturesque part of Copenhagen – Nyhavn. There are numerous bars and restaurants, where people drink beer, talk and have fun. Usually it is jam-packed, especially on weekends.
On our way back to the apartment, we stopped in a lovely bar located by the sea, with one of the best coffees I’ve ever drank. Going to that bar became our routine. We walked to that bar almost every day, had a nice cup of coffee and enjoyed our view.
Last time when I was in Copenhagen I didn’t visit the botanical gardens, so I really wanted to go this time. There is something about gardens that I am attracted to and I’m not really sure what that might be. Botanical gardens in Copenhagen are known by it’s beauty and damn right they are! It was sooo beautiful there, I really enjoyed every second of our visit.
As I said before, I have visited Copenhagen before. That was a good thing because I knew exactly what I want to see again , what I want to see because I didn’t see it last time and what I don’t want to see again. You know how it is when going somewhere new. You want to see everything and experience as much as you can, so everything is more intense. And visiting this city for the second time was the reason why whole week was more chill. We took our time, sometimes we would just seat in a bar, enjoy the view and talk for two hours. And I think that’s why I liked this city even more than the first time – I felt it, I lived with it, I enjoyed it with no rush.
