Tuscany diaries : A home away from home
At the end of April we spent a week in Tuscany. Before we left I got asked quite frequently „Don’t you get bored of going there so many times at some point?”I feel like I have to say that this year it’s been my fourth time going to Tuscany. And my answer was always the same: „No, not at all.“
Tuscany is my so-called “happy place”, and it feels like home away from home. And by all that I’m not saying this just beacuse it’s really beautiful there, what makes it so special for me is a mood I get into, when I’m there. It’s the whole mindset that becomes different. Everything there is so….zen. Ok, I think you get it by now, Tuscany is my holly temple.
First few nights we stayed a few kilometres away from San Gimignano, our favourite town in whole Tuscany. It’s a typical Middle age town, with hundreds of tiny, misterious streets.

In my opinion Tuscany is a perfect mixture of everything. Whether you prefer cities and towns or nature, in Tuscany you’ll have both, and lots of it. One day we spent in Florence, ate famous „gelato“ and just enjoyed the city pulse. The streets get very crowded due to tons of turists, so you definitely have to be prepared for that and be patient. But other than that Florence is really, really nice.

This post was more about “city life” in Tuscany, so keep an eye, for my next post. Any guesses what’s going to be about?
