ON THE HIGHEST PEAK OF GRAN CANARIA – ROQUE NUBLO

I would say we were quite lucky with the weather on our previous hikes, for example on the highest peak of Tenerife (whole post about it here: https://majalampe.com/2018/07/27/on-the-highest-peak-of-spain-el-teide-3718m-and-getting-mountain-sickness/) as well as on the highest peak of Madeira ( whole post about it here: https://majalampe.com/2019/07/16/a-hike-to-the-highest-peak-of-madeira-pico-ruivo/). This time luck was not on our side haha, but we still had a great time, since it was not just about the destination but we enjoyed the whole experience. I have to admit we did not pay a lot of attention to the weather forecast, but just picked a random day to go to the mountains instead. From the coast (where we stayed) the weather…

I SURPRISED HIM WITH A TRIP TO VALENCIA

Aaaaaaaaaaggghhhhh! First of all let’s all take a moment in memory of my lost photos from Valencia! I forgot to copy photos from SD to my computer but I was certain I did and as we were in Canary islands I deleted all photos from my SD to make room for new ones. Today as I wanted to edit them for this blog post, they were nowhere to be found. I like to work fast and multitask, furthermore it’s because I have so many SD cards and some photos on my phone, some on computer, some on disks and it all gets messed up. Well, all I can get out…

    BEST OF 2019

Writing and sharing a short recap of the past year has become a tradition, so in this post I am sharing my 2019 top moments. You can check out other “Best of” posts I’ve written here: Best of 2017: https://majalampe.com/2018/01/03/best-of-2017/ Best of 2018: https://majalampe.com/2019/01/02/best-of-2018/ I always try to learn something from the past year and one thing I’ve learned during 2019 was indulgence. I’ve learned to work hard on different things at the same time, I’ve learned how to be efficient. I’ve learned I have much more will power than I thought I do and I’ve learned not to stop after I usually would have. My patience had been tested…

    CHRISTMASSY PEAR PIE

Even though pears wouldn’t score the highest on “Christmassy foods”, you can still make it for the holidays. The taste is amazing and it’s maybe something different that you’d normally bake around Christmas time. I made it a few days ago and asked you on one of my insta stories whether you’d like me to share the recipe and so many of you voted you would, so here I am making the pie for the second time and sharing the recipe! It’s another pretty easy-to-make piece that tastes really good and that’s what I’m all about. I’m not a regular baker, I love to cook and do it every day…

AZORES: A PLACE WHERE I SAID “YES”

Huh, okay here we go again. I can start this post by “it’s been a while”, like any other post I’ve written recently. I had no time to write blog posts on the top of everything else that’s been going on for the last couple of months, so that’s the main reason why there’s been a lack of posts. How original of me, I know. I’ve finally decided to write a bit about our engagement. I know some of you requested I share our story, so that’s what I’m doing. And I don’t want this post to come up as some “blogger sharing their amazing story of how they got…
